Understanding China requires more than surface observation; it requires insight into the patterns and strategic logic that shape the cultural behaviour.
We are researchers of Chinese military history, specialising in the art and tactics of historical stealth operatives. During our multidisciplinary research, and working with primary Chinese historical texts, we unexpectedly recovered missing content from the thirteenth chapter of Sun Tzu’s Art of War 孫子兵法. This has enabled us to grasp a richer and more complete understanding of Sun Tzu’s 孫子 principles of strategy.
Our research spans four decades, tracing the evolution of Chinese military strategy from the Warring States period (475–221 BCE) to the modern era. This long-term study has given us deep insight into Sun Tzu 孫子 and the enduring strategic principles that continue to influence politics, business, and society today. We also integrate the work of later strategists who expanded upon Sun Tzu’s legacy, showing how these ideas evolved and how they continue to inform modern Chinese thinking.
We pair this research with extensive business experience in China and the Far East, giving our clients a grounded understanding of commercial realities. Our expertise in financial markets, corporate structuring, and business management is strengthened by long-standing familiarity with regional business practices.
